THE FOURTH AEGEAN YACHT RALLY ORGANIZED BY SETUR MARINAS STARTS ON 8th AUGUST

The Fourth International Aegean Yacht Rally (AYR) (2007) organized for the fourth time by SETUR Marinas, a leader with the attempts for the development and popularization of yacht tourism and sailing in Turkey, will bring peace and friendship to the Aegean waters once more between 8th to 26th August this year.

SETUR Marinas leads the attempts for the development and popularization of yacht tourism and sailing in Turkey with the fourth of the international yacht rally that has traditionally been organized every two years since 2000. With the Fourth International Aegean Yacht Rally (AYR), organized by SETUR Marinas with the sponsorship of DemirDöküm, Opet and Ford Otosan, the yachters from various countries of the world will set sail on the Aegean Sea once more to reach the Greek Islands in the North Aegean and Greece, which will happen for the second time in the history of the rally.

Vedat Midilli, the General Director of Setur Marinas, said during the press conference for the Fourth Aegean Yacht Rally; ''We are honored to reach the fourth rally'' and added; ''The Aegean Yacht Rally has become one of the most important activities of the national and international yachting community as a respectable organization with its successful organization, the missions it undertakes, its colorful character and rich social content. During the past years, 250 yachts and approximately 840 yachters from 18 different countries participated in the rally organized by us, Setur Marinas. And for the fourth International Aegean Yacht Rally, which will be realized in August with the valuable contributions of DemirDöküm, Opet and Ford Otosan, the capacity for 60 yachts is full and there is also a backup list of 20 yachts. We are also excited as the interest in rally grows with every year."

The route includes the Greek continent this year .
Providing information about the participants and the route of the Fourth International Aegean Yacht Rally, Necati Zincirkıran, the Commodore of the International Aegean Yacht Rally, pointed out that a different route on the Aegean has been set this year for the Fourth International Aegean Yacht Rally, as has been traditionalized during the first three rallies according to the nature of the organization. Zincirkıran added; ''Our rally will start on 8th August at Ayvalık Setur Marina and islands Mytilene, Lemnos and Skopelos will be visited; and then, after visiting Volos city on the Greek continent, island Skiathos will be called and Porto Carras port and Imbros will be visited through Lemnos and the rally will end on 26th August.''

The Fourth International Aegean Yacht Rally organized by Setur Marinas is sponsored by DemirDöküm, Opet and Ford Otosan this year.

Can Azergün, the Assistant General Director of DemirDöküm, said during his speech at the conference, ''As DemirDöküm, with the awareness and responsibility of being the leader of our sector, we are with our consumers in the social realm as well and we carry on fulfilling social responsibility with regards to environment, culture-arts and education and providing support for sponsorship projects. This year, after assuming the sponsorship of the ''Turmepa-1'' boat which is in service again at the Göcek bay, we are now happy to support the Fourth International Aegean Yacht Rally.''

Yalçın Lokmanhekim, the Marketing Director of Opet, on the other hand, said, ''We are honored to sponsor the rally this year, too; as we were also among the sponsors in 2005.''

And Ufuk Güçlü, the Chief Assistant General Director of Ford Otosan, said, ''It is a meaningful source of honor that our country and our firm are mentioned in the national and international scale for a cause that serves friendship and peace.''
