Soon, You Will Produce Your Own Electricity with DemirDöküm

DemirDöküm has started manufacturing "Bipolar Plates" within the project of fuel cells to produce heat and electric energy using "hydrogen", which is the most effective solution to the global warming and which is the source of energy for the future. Soon, individual generation of electricity shall be ensured in the most efficient manner with micro-cogeneration systems operable with fuel cells.

Micro-cogeneration systems operable with DemirDöküm fuel cells shall enable everybody to produce electricity at home and to sell it back to the system when required.

Now, manufacture of the bipolar plates, which are one of the most components of the fuel cells, the starting point of this system, are now being manufactured by DemirDöküm firm with Turkish technology and patent developed in cooperation with Tubitak-MAM.

Mr. Bülent Lütfü Kızıltan, the General Director of DemirDöküm, explained the developments in this regard as follows:

"We exhibited the bipolar plates we manufacture at fair EXPO 2007, which was organized in Japan on 7th to 9th February, for the first time. DemirDöküm has been the first and only Bu firm to represent our country at the fair. We have enjoyed efficient coverage by the Japanese media. Then we also started the commercial sale of our products exhibited at Hannover fair organized in Germany on 16th to 20th April 2007, which is the largest industrial fair in the world. During the fair, we actually sold 4 plates and our negotiations for the order of 60.000 items are still in progress. This is an important milestone for the development of the Turkish industry as it is the first commercial sale of bipolar plates manufactured with the technology of our country, although the quantity and the amount seems low at the moment. Thanks to this sale, now Turkey joins the developed countries such as USA, Japan and Germany, engaging in activities in this field. As DemirDöküm, we enjoy the deserved pride of this."


     
The fact that DemirDöküm fuel cells use "hydrogen", a clean source of energy, shall also contribute to the economy of our country, a country with limited sources of power. Moreover, it will provide input of foreign currency as it will be manufactured in our country and will be exported. In addition to the economic benefit, these efforts of DemirDöküm, being the sector leader for matters such as energy efficiency and environment, create added value in terms of improving living conditions of the Turkish people as well.
