EXPECTED GIANT AGREEMENT
FROM DEMIRDOKUM
DEMİRDÖKÜM has signed the machinery and foreign brand contract that covers the new 19 million Euro investment ? The investments that started with the Demirdöküm-Panel A.Ş. 'Capacity Increase Groundbreaking Ceremony' that took place in the beginning of June has gained speed with the machinery and equipment supply contracts. In the scope of the agreement executed by and between DEMİRDÖKÜM-PANEL A.Ş. and German SCHAEFER company, whole machinery park of German SCHAEFER panel radiators production facility shall be moved to Bozüyük.
PANEL A.Ş. that shall increase its capacity to 5.5 million meter annually with this contract shall become the biggest panel radiator production base of Europe. Also within the scope of the same contract, FIX, the panel radiator brand of German SCHAFER company in Europe and all the distribution channels and customer portfolio of this brand shall be transferred to DEMİRDÖKÜM.
DemirDöküm shall be a sector leader not only in Turkey but also in Europe Panel A.Ş. outbuilding investment in Bozüyük shall be completed by the end of October. Demirdöküm and German Schaefer Company, which is the leading panel radiator manufacturer of Europe, had undersigned a very important agreement regarding the machinery park that shall be used in this new facility. According to the agreement, panel radiator facility of Schaefer company established in Germany Neunkirchen/ Siegerland shall be completely disassembled and send to Turkey and then integrated in the outbuilding of Panel A.Ş. facilities which is one of the participations of Demirdöküm.
Accordingly DemirDöküm-Panel A.Ş. aims to gradually increase its annual capacity of 2.500.000 meters to 5.500.000 meters by combining the existing production lines with the new lines purchased and by carrying out required modifications and improvements. With this investment DemirDöküm shall become the 2nd biggest facility of Europe as of third quarter of year 2006. When the annual 5.500.000 meter capacity planned is reached, DemirDöküm shall become the biggest panel radiator manufacturer of Europe.
Schaefer Heiztechnik (Schaefer Heating Techniques) company that signed a collaboration contract with Demirdöküm carries out its activities under the scope of "Schaefer Werke" which is one of the three companies under the Schaefer Group. Schaefer Heiztechnik produces 33 mm winding FIXSicca and flat surfaced FIXPlus panel radiators under the FIX brand since 1965. Schaefer Heiztechnik, one of the most important panel radiator companies in Europe stands out as an industry initiative that has accomplished an international success.
Dr. Bülent Bulgurlu, President of Koç Holding Durable Goods and Construction Group who gave a speech in the signature ceremony held in Koç Holding Headquarter has emphasized the following regarding the investment; ''In accordance with its vision DemirDöküm aims to accomplish the firsts in its sector and to sustain its development. Increasing the production capacities timely in accordance with the market expectations of the following years is the major step in development. With this investment our Panel A.Ş. facility established in 1979 that extended its capacity 10 times in 26 years and that has become the third biggest production center in Europe shall become number one in Europe. We are proud to participate in increasing the work opportunities in the region and making contribution to our country's economy''.
B. Lütfü Kızıltan, General Manager of DemirDöküm has stated the following in his speech in the ceremony "This investment is a major step taken in the objective of becoming one of the biggest players in the heating sector in Europe. DemirDöküm shall reach its target by continuing its investment onsets in Bozüyük Facilities in the incoming periods.''
With this contract DemirDöküm owns a new brand in Europe ? As the result of the contract signed, FIX brand in Europe under the ownership of German Schaefer company and all the distribution channels of this brand and its product portfolio is being transferred to DemirDöküm. In this regard DemirDöküm shall extend its authorized dealers, distribution channels and customer portfolio in Europe. With the transfer of annual capacity of 5.500.000 meters, FIX brand and distribution channels abroad to DemirDöküm additional turnover of 100 million Euro shall be obtained and in this way DemirDöküm shall increase share of exportation turnover in total turnover up to 50% according to its strategic targets.''
